National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week
May 2 – 8, 2010

To bring awareness and create venues for public education about anxiety and depressive illnesses, Freedom From Fear has created the Campaign on Anxiety and Depression Awareness. Since 1994, the program has been launched during the first week in May as National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week, May 2 – 8, 2010. Each year more than 40 million Americans will suffer with an anxiety disorder and over 20 million will suffer from some type of depressive illness. The cost to the economy of these terrible diseases is billions of dollars each year; the cost in human suffering is immeasurable.

May is also Mental Health Month. We need your help. Register to be a part of our public education campaign by promoting and sponsoring an event during the month of May as part of the Campaign on Anxiety and Depression Awareness and Mental Health Month. This effort will certainly yield great results in understanding mental illnesses and the treatments that are available. Even if you cannot organize an event, the materials in this kit will be extremely helpful to you in your important work of helping the mentally ill and the families and friends who support them.

Freedom From Fear has packaged a Mental Health Educational Kit, over $100 in value, that will make organizing your event simple and successful.
